Hannah Huston was stunning in a red Saiid Kobeisy gown on last night’s live recording of The Voice. She sang a haunting version of “Every Breath You Take” by The Police, which appealed to me as it was somehow less stalker-creepy thanks to Paul Mirkovich’s arrangement. She’s the least musically experienced of the final four contestants, but she has a voice that I hope to listen to for decades to come. Listen to “Say You Love Me” by Hannah Huston »»
What’s more is this song she co-wrote with Pharrell Williams: “I Call the Shots”. Although I find the ringing obnoxious, the song in its entirety is a great anthem for taking control of what you want and how you want to be. I hope listening to it enough times will mute the ringing and allow complete focus on the lyrics.
Listen for the brief tempo change 3/4 of the way through. It just might make up for Pharrell’s choice to sustain the ringing.
What do you think of the song? Tonight’s the final night of Season 10 of The Voice. Whatever the results may be, I’m looking forward to more from Hannah Huston!
